Recycling in flat blocks
In most blocks of flats now, we provide a mini-recycling cente of three wheelie bins. We are working to try to put these in every block but it may not possible if there is not enough space.
If you do not have a mini-recycling cente, you may be able to ask for recycling boxes. You will be responsible for leaving these outside your block by 8am on collection day and making sure they can be seen from the road.
How to use your mini-recycling centre
- The red wheelie bin is for glass jars and bottles. Please do not include Pyrex containers, sheet glass, light bulbs, drinking glasses or any plastic containers
- The blue wheelie bin is for newspapers and magazines, white telephone directories (not Yellow Pages or Thomson directories) and junk mail
- The orange wheelie bin is for all metal food and drink containers. Please do not include any plastic containers
The Council will empty these wheelie bins every week from their storage area. Please make sure the bins are put there by 8am on collection day.
