How to join the mutual exchange register
It is possible for tenants to exchange their Council or Registered Social Landlord homes. There is a huge demand on available Council homes and for many people who wish to move, finding a mutual exchange is possibly the only way they will be able to move, and often the quickest way too. If you would like to find a mutual exchange within Stevenage, there is a register (called the internal mutual exchange register) that gives the details of all tenants wanting to exchange, where and what type of home they live in now and where and what type of home they are looking for. You can download the mutual exchange register by clicking below:
You can also view it at our Customer Service Centre. You can put your name on the register by completing and returning the following form:
Application to join the Mutual Exchange Register
Please return the completed form to the Customer Service Centre. Your details will be added to the mutual exchange register for 6 months, unless you ask for your name to be taken off sooner. You will be asked to renew your entry in the register every 6 months. If you wish to amend your details or remove them from the register you can do so by filling out this form:
