Celebrating a year of involvement

Our Customer Pool has been live for a year. To mark this we held an event to review the Pool and how its members felt about it.

Over 40 members of the Pool attended the event at Bedwell Community Centre on 14 July, where we:

  • Gave out copies of the first issue of the ‘Customer Pool Newsletter’
  • Talked about how members have helped shape Stevenage Homes’ services over the past year 
  • Looked at new ways members would like to be involved 
  • Set up a ‘diary room’ where members gave their views to Panda Media – the company who will be producing a DVD version of our tenant handbook  
  • Held our pub style prize quiz, the winning team won leisure vouchers
  • Held our prize draw for two £50 shopping vouchers, a digital camera and more  
  • Enjoyed a good buffet lunch

What we learnt from the event was that Customer Pool members are really interested in getting more involved in improving services.

In particular members want to work with Stevenage Homes to: 

  • Make sure we communicate in a timely and regular way
  • Set standards for involvement, such as how often we contact pool members 
  • Run information sessions on subjects such as ‘ how rents are set’ and ‘how major works programmes are decided’

We will be setting up a working group to discuss these issues and other issues raised at the event in the coming weeks. More information will be sent to the Customer Pool members shortly and posted on our website.
