A local residents group, together with staff and tenants of Stevenage Homes, helped spread some Christmas cheer at Lister Hospital this festive season by donating gifts for patients.
Shephall Residents & Associates group; sheltered housing residents from Hobbs Court and staff from Stevenage Homes, who manage over 8000 properties in Stevenage, showed their generosity by donating over 100 presents for those who are going to be on the wards at the Stevenage hospital over Christmas.
Robert Clark, a member of the Shephall residents’ group, has been donating gifts to the hospital for a number of years. This year Robert invited other members of the group to join him and from there it snowballed, with Stevenage Homes opening up the opportunity to staff as part of their wellbeing themed month.
The gifts were delivered to patients of all ages at the hospital, ready in time for Christmas.
Lorraine O’Brien, Chief Executive at Stevenage Homes said; “We are very proud to be part of the Stevenage community and have this opportunity to join in with this initiative. I would like to thank all of our very generous members of staff who donated gifts.”
