Inspirational Sarah in line for award

A member of Stevenage Homes' staff has been shortlisted for a prestigious housing award.

Sarah Brewerton, senior anti-social behaviour officer at Stevenage Homes, is one of only five housing professionals to make the shortlist for the “Inspirational Colleague of the Year” award presented by the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH). The award recognises staff who have inspired those that they work with and gone the extra mile to provide an excellent service.

Sarah was nominated for the excellent work that she undertaken to tackle anti-social behaviour and support both victims and perpetrators to resolve conflict. She has also worked hard to build strong partnerships with Stevenage Borough Council, local police and fire services and community groups which are helping to build stronger, safer communities within Stevenage.

Her work has achieved the respect of colleagues and partners and she has received many letters and phone calls from members of the public to thank her for the positive effects of her interventions.

Speaking about the nomination Debbie Rabot, Director of Housing Services, said, “We are absolutely delighted that Sarah is one of the finalists in this years Chartered Institute of Housing UK Housing Award for Inspirational Colleague. Sarah is committed, passionate and has contributed greatly towards the development of our approach to tackling anti-social behaviour. This is a personal achievement for Sarah and we all wish her success on the 6th November at the presentation awards”

The winner of the award will be announced at the CIH UK Housing Awards on Thursday 6 November.
