A member of our staff has been presented with a prestigious housing award.
Sarah Brewerton, senior anti-social behaviour officer, was selected from a shortlist of five housing professionals for the “Inspirational Colleague of the Year” award presented by the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH). The award recognises staff who have inspired those that they work with and gone the extra mile to provide an excellent service.
Sarah has been recognised for the excellent work that she has undertaken to tackle anti-social behaviour and support both victims and perpetrators to resolve conflict. She has also worked hard to build strong partnerships with Stevenage Borough Council, local police and fire services and community groups which are helping to build stronger, safer communities within Stevenage.
Her work has achieved the respect of colleagues and partners and she has received many letters and phone calls from members of the public to thank her for the positive effects of her interventions.
Speaking about Sarah’s success Ted Jones, chair of Stevenage Homes, said “Sarah arrived in Stevenage as a single parent, homeless with two small children. Against this background Sarah is a shining example of what can be achieved when you have the strength of character that she displays.
Sarah truly deserves the award for Inspirational Colleague. She is committed, passionate and has contributed greatly towards the development of our approach to tackling anti-social behaviour. This is a personal achievement for Sarah and an example of the excellence that Stevenage Homes is achieving throughout our services.”
Sarah picked up the award at a gala ceremony held in London.
