New Housing Allocations Scheme Launched

Stevenage Borough Council has introduced a new Allocations Scheme from Monday 12th January, which will affect the way Stevenage Homes allocates empty properties.

This new Scheme is the result of extensive consultation by the Council with applicants and residents during late summer and autumn 2008, and amongst other changes, introduces new points totals for every applicant on the housing register.

If you are an applicant for housing (or rehousing) on Stevenage’s housing register, you will soon receive a letter telling you how many points you have under the new scheme.

Your new points total is effective from Monday 12th January 2009. This means it applies to all bids for properties that will be advertised from the 54th Edition of Home4U, which is available from Friday 16th January, 2009.
