A Stevenage Homes tenant has been rewarded for getting involved in how housing is managed in the town.

Penny Chattey has won £100 in a prize draw held exclusively for Stevenage Homes customers who have been involved in developing and improving services.

Penny is a member of Stevenage Homes’ Customer Pool, a 200 strong group of customers who have committed to sharing their views about housing services. Pool members volunteer to join focus groups, take part in surveys and participate in consultation events that help Stevenage Homes to understand what customers need and want from their services. Debbie Rabôt, director of housing and customer services explains.

‘One of Stevenage Homes’ founding values is involving customers in every aspect of our service. Stevenage Homes has radically improved services since we were set up and we have only been able to achieve this by listening to what our customers have told us really matters to them. We are grateful to tenants like Penny for taking the time to share their views and our six monthly draws are our way of saying thank you.’

Penny, who has taken part in the Customer Conference, workshops and the Disability Forum added.

‘Being involved is good for meeting new friends and catching up with people you’ve met at other events, they are always very friendly. It feels good to know that anything we say to Stevenage Homes is noted and that our opinions count. I’m delighted to have won, and would like to say thanks to the resident involvement team.’
