Working with the Police we have used a piece of legislation for the first time to evict people from a private property for causing significant and persistent disruption to the local community.
A premises closure order was granted for a property in Cavell Walk yesterday, the order was granted under the Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003. The court found that the use of the premises had been associated with significant and persistent disorder in the three months up to September 28.
Anyone who breaches the terms of the order by returning to the building could face up to six months in prison and a £5,000 fine.
