We would like to apologise for any confusion caused by the new rent statement, which we have recently sent to all tenants.
As you will be aware this is the first time we have sent a statement in this format. The new design hoped to make the statement easier to read and to provide you with additional information. Unfortunately, due to a technical error, tenants who receive Housing Benefit have received a statement showing a larger weekly charge, which is incorrect.
If you are in receipt of Housing Benefit this amount should be taken away from your occupation charge. You will still be liable to pay your water rates and any element of rent your Housing benefit does not cover.
Thank you to all those of you who have contacted us to clarify what your weekly charge is. Your feedback is really helpful and will help us to improve how we communicate with you.
We are currently working with our supplier to correct this in time for the next statement, due in January.
