The Federation of Stevenage Tenants & Associations (FOSTA) ‘resource centre’ at Swingate has been officially opened.
Councillor Ann Webb, the Executive Councillor for Housing, Cathy Deplessis, Chief Executive of Stevenage Homes, and Councillor John Lloyd, Deputy Mayor cut the ribbons to officially open the centre.
The Resource Centre, at Swingate House in the town centre, will provide an advice and signposting service for residents. It will also be equipped with computers and a phone to enable all tenants to do their administrative tasks, including supporting tenant and resident groups. It is open for all residents in Stevenage and is managed by FOSTA.
Bill Whelan, Chair of FOSTA said: "This project will allow resident representatives to support fellow residents in engaging effectively with Stevenage Homes and the Council. It is an exciting opportunity for all Stevenage Homes customers and we welcome them all to make use of the facilities."
Councillor Webb said: "We welcome this opportunity to support this initiative and we hope that the Resource Centre will be well used by all".
Bill Whelan added: "We are hoping that tenants, leaseholders and residents will regularly use this resource, as it will enable local people to make a difference to where they live."
FOSTA are supported by Stevenage Homes' resident involvement team.
