About your service charges

As well as your basic rent, we charge you separately for certain services. These are called service charges.

We review these charges every year and we will give you 28 days notice in writing if we plan to increase any of them.

Depending on what type of property you live in, you will pay service charges for the following:

Service charges for all tenants

Virgin Media provide a TV service to all our tenants who pay a weekly charge for the cost of the service. If you subscribe to other Virgin Media services (such as phone line rental, pay TV channels or digital TV) you will receive a credit on your bill. But if you change to another service you will still have to pay the Virgin Media charge.

If you live in a house or bungalow, this is usually the only service charge you will pay.

Service charges for tenants in sheltered housing

If you live in sheltered housing you pay one overall charge to cover window cleaning, grounds maintenance and support services.

Service charges for tenants in a block of flats

If you live in a block of flats, you will pay service charges for the following:

  •  Caretaking
  • Grounds maintenance
  • Window cleaning

These charges may vary from block to block because the amount of work involved varies from block to block. You can find out more about these services by clicking below:

If you live in a block of flats

Also, if you live in a block of flat which have shared heating, you pay a charge for the fuel supply. The weekly charge varies from block to block because the type and amount of heating varies from block to block.
