How to report an emergency repair
These are the repairs we will treat as emergencies:
- Insecure property
- Gaining access
- Dangerous flooring or stairs
- Total loss of water supply
- Uncontrollable water leaks
- Unusable taps in the 'on' position
- Blocked toilets or soil and vent pipes (if only one in the property)
- Blocked drains (if backing up)
- Missing inspection chamber covers
- Severely damaged or dangerous roofs
- Electrics sparking or smoking, or bare wires
- Total loss of electric power
- Blocked chimney to an open fire
- Removal of brick debris or rubble
Loss of heating or hot water is not an emergency. If, however, either you or a member of the household is 'put at risk' by the loss of heating due to age or illness please let the operator know and they will try to make arrangements for the loan of a temporary electric heater.
How to report your emergency repair
If you need to report an emergency repair outside normal working hours you can call the emergency out of hours number 01438 314963. Please only use this number if there is an immediate risk or danger to you or your property.
NB: There is a standard charge of £100 plus VAT if you call out the emergency team and you are not in when the contractor arrives. If you call out the emergency team and it is found not to be a genuine emergency you will be charged this plus the cost of any work that is carried out. While every effort will be made to rectify the problem with a 'permanent repair' this may not always be possible. We will, at the very least, make the situation safe and return at a later date to complete the repair.

What to do if you think you may have a gas leak?
If you think you may have a gas leak contact Transco immediately on Freephone 0800 111999. Do not switch lights on or off or light a match or other naked flame. Turn off the gas at the meter, open all windows and stay outside your home until Transco tell you it is safe to go back.
What to do if you have a major water leak?
Phone 01438 218601 for assistance or our emergency out of hours number 01438 314963 outside of office hours. Turn your water off at the main stopcock and your electricity at the meter.
